Plosser says confident Fed will avoid inflation risk Mar 29th 2012, 17:33 NEW YORK | Thu Mar 29, 2012 1:33pm EDT NEW YORK (Reuters) - Though the Federal Reserve cannot predict how difficult it will be to tighten policy when the time comes, a top Fed official said he is confident that the U.S. central bank will avoid a surge of inflation as banks finally let go of their excess reserves. Philadelphia Fed President Charles Plosser said the Fed's policy-setting committee is very conscious of this challenge.
